Water in your ear Also when splashing about boisterously in the whirlpool, water may easily penetrate the auditory canal of children and cause an unpleasant feeling of pressure in the ear. Almost automatically, children put a finger into the affected ear to fight off this strange feeling and to be able to hear better again. But be careful!

While doing so, the auditory canal may be injured and germs are an excellent culture medium for infections. Instead of using fingers, a rolled-up tissue or paper handkerchief that soaks up the penetrated water without leaving scratches in the inner ear is more suitable.
